Week in Review: August 13 - 18

Movies - This week's new movie was Hope Springs, while the old movies were Thunderball and Haywire.  My favourite was Hope, and I was neither wowed nor amazed by either of the others, although I did have to admit that Thunderball was fun.

Books - Two books this week, the next two instalments in the Lord John series.  First up was "The Custom of the Army," which I wasn't a big fan of, followed by the novel The Scottish Prisoner, which I thoroughly enjoyed.  One of the things that I really liked about Prisoner was that it really tied up some of the loose ends that the series has provided.

TV - TV show of the week was the first season of Showtime's Homeland, which I really enjoyed.  A psychological thriller about terrorism, it really keeps you on your toes.  I'm looking forward to watching the second season.

Recommendations -This week's new releases are Sparkle and The Expendables 2.  I'm looking forward to the former as it's Whitney Houston's last role and the latter because it's Arnold Schwarzenegger's return to the big screen - he even says "I'm back."

Next Week - Look forward to the conclusion of the Fifty Shades series with the third novel Fifty Shades Freed, as well as a note on the series.  We'll also have my thoughts on the latest Bourne movie, Bourne Legacy, and the next James Bond, You Only Live Twice.  To round out the week, I'm thinking Pete Smalls is Dead.

Requests - What about you?  Any books, TV shows, movies, whatever, that you'd like to see me review?  Let me know in the comments.
