Week in Review: August 27 - September 1

Movies - We finally reviewed Pete Smalls is Dead, which was joined by reviews of Sparkle, Armageddon, and Deep Impact.  None of these movies was particularly good, however I did really enjoy the two disaster flicks.  Joining them was a note discussing the two together.

Books - This week we finished off both Tales of Dunk and Egg, with "The Mystery Knight" and Lord John with "Lord John and the Plague of Zombies."  As both series are works in progress, I'm sure there will be later instalments, which I'm looking forward to reading when they come.

TV - TV show of the week was The Big Bang Theory, with its second season.  I found it to be an improvement on the first season, and will continue to review the show.

Recommendations - New movie recommendations were Lawless and For a Good Time Call.... I'm looking forward to seeing both, although the limited nature of the release of For a Good Time suggests that I'll have to wait until that one's on DVD.

Next Week - Next week we'll resume our Bond-a-thon with On Her Majesty's Secret Service and Diamonds are Forever - the last official Sean Connery film and the first non-Sean Connery film, although not in that order.  We'll also have the new Joseph Gordon-Levitt film, Premium Rush, and Lawless.  Book of the week will be Jenny Lawson's Let's Pretend this Never Happened, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Requests - Anything I should read or watch?  Let me know in the comments.
